The ETA, that is to say, the „European Technical Assessment” was previously known as the European Technical Approval. In order to obtain this certificate, the company’s stock must they are subjected to a thorough assessment in terms of fire safety, structural integrity and thermal insulation.
The EAD, or European Assessment Document, sets out these specific tests, all of which must be successfully completed in order to obtain the ETA certificate.
This certificate therefore not only guarantees that the company complies with EU standards, but it also ensures that the finished modular house safe, high-quality and durable will be.

In Hungary, the ETA and the ÉMI certificates both… and… play an important role in the construction of detached houses, whether it is a house built using brick construction or modular construction technology.
Both certificates ensure that the construction work is carried out in accordance with the law, but there are some significant differences between the two.
The ETA (formerly ÉME) conformity assessments are issued by ÉMI for building kits – the following various structural, fire safety and thermal insulation tests.
The first and one of the most important elements of this fire safety test. To this end, the walls and floor slabs are tested in a special firing kiln whilst vertical pressure is applied to them. They are then subjected to a so-called REI rating, which indicates the stability of the structure (expressed in minutes).
This is followed by the structural analysis, during which a structural engineer checks the drawings, paying particular attention to the connection points. The load-bearing capacity is measured using a hydraulic testing machine.
And finally, the thermal insulation properties It is assessed on the basis of the layer sequence and the heat transfer coefficient (U). The resulting heat transfer coefficient indicates how much energy is lost through a surface area of 1 m² in 1 second, given a temperature difference of 1 degree. The lower the U-value, the better the insulation.
The ETA certificate therefore ensures that construction products must comply with the various technical specifications, and that they are also accepted and can be lawfully applied in the EU Member States. The ÉMI reviews this annually and, where necessary, takes steps to ensure compliance.
The ÉMI certificate one a document relating to construction products specifically manufactured in Hungary and intended for use on the Hungarian market. Consequently, it cannot, in practice, be interpreted in EU Member States (such as Germany, France, etc.), but only within the Hungarian legal framework.
Regardless of that, of course ÉMI also awards a high-standard certification, but this certificate is drawn up primarily in accordance with Hungarian legislation and regulations.
Incidentally, ÉMI also examines the factors relating to structural engineering, fire safety and thermal insulation mentioned above.
