What is an ETA (European Technical Assessment) certificate?\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The\u00a0ETA<\/strong>, that is to say, the \u201eEuropean Technical Assessment<\/strong>\u201d was previously known as the European Technical Approval. In order to obtain this certificate, the company\u2019s stock must\u00a0they are subjected to a thorough assessment in terms of fire safety, structural integrity and thermal insulation<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

The EAD, or European Assessment Document, sets out these specific tests, all of which must be successfully completed in order to obtain the ETA certificate.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

This certificate therefore not only guarantees that\u00a0the company complies with EU standards<\/strong>, but it also ensures that the finished modular house\u00a0safe, high-quality and durable<\/strong>\u00a0will be.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

ETA certificate and \u00c9MI: what is the difference?\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In Hungary, the\u00a0ETA<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0\u00c9MI<\/strong>\u00a0certificates<\/strong>\u00a0both\u2026 and\u2026\u00a0play an important role in the construction of detached houses<\/strong>, whether it is a house built using brick construction or modular construction technology.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Both certificates ensure that the construction work is carried out in accordance with the law, but there are some significant differences between the two.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

ETA certificate (European Technical Assessment)<\/h4><\/div><\/div>

The\u00a0ETA<\/strong>\u00a0(formerly \u00c9ME) conformity assessments are issued by \u00c9MI for building kits \u2013 the\u00a0following various structural, fire safety and thermal insulation tests<\/strong>.<\/p>

The first and one of the most important elements of this\u00a0fire safety test<\/strong>. To this end, the walls and floor slabs are tested in a special firing kiln whilst vertical pressure is applied to them. They are then subjected to a so-called\u00a0REI rating<\/strong>, which indicates the stability of the structure (expressed in minutes).<\/p><\/div><\/div>

This is followed by the\u00a0structural analysis<\/strong>, during which a structural engineer checks the drawings, paying particular attention to the connection points. The load-bearing capacity is measured using a hydraulic testing machine.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

And finally, the\u00a0thermal insulation properties<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0It is assessed on the basis of the layer sequence and the heat transfer coefficient (U). The resulting heat transfer coefficient indicates how much energy is lost through a surface area of 1 m\u00b2 in 1 second, given a temperature difference of 1 degree.\u00a0The lower the U-value, the better the insulation<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

The ETA certificate therefore ensures that\u00a0construction products must comply with the various technical specifications<\/strong>, and that they are also accepted and can be lawfully applied in the EU Member States. The \u00c9MI reviews this annually and, where necessary, takes steps to ensure compliance.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t

\u00c9MI certificate (Construction Industry Quality Control Institute)\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The\u00a0\u00c9MI<\/strong>\u00a0certificate one\u00a0a document relating to construction products specifically manufactured in Hungary and intended for use on the Hungarian market<\/strong>. Consequently, it cannot, in practice, be interpreted in EU Member States (such as Germany, France, etc.), but only within the Hungarian legal framework.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Regardless of that, of course\u00a0\u00c9MI also awards a high-standard certification<\/strong>, but this certificate is drawn up primarily in accordance with Hungarian legislation and regulations.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Incidentally, \u00c9MI also examines the factors relating to structural engineering, fire safety and thermal insulation mentioned above.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
